Old News 9/8/01-9/14/01

Back in T.O. - Friday 9/14/01 11:55 pm EST

Yay. So I'm back in Toronto for the weekend. In fact, Etheral and Guru Mike also came back. We are elite. I have to say, real Chinese food simply OWNS white food. I'm guessing we're gonna get together tomorrow with the rest of the PP crew and chill.

Quote of the day today must be Tommyboy's reaction at Waterloo. I was eating lunch with him today and he spurted out "I can't believe there are so many white people in here!!" HAHAHAHAHAAAHAHHA.

There will be no NFL weekend this Sunday because of the World Trade Center/Pentagon incidents. Stupid terrorists.

Hmm... I think I'm gonna archive the news twice a week. This page is getting long.

BTW, my new email address is gkctam@engmail.uwaterloo.ca.

Computer Science Lab #1 iz Dun! - Friday 9/14/01 9:15pm EST

Yeah baby, I just mailed my first lab to the TA. It was due at 10pm tonight, then one hour before it was due, the date was pushed back to the 21st. Go figure. You might say that I'm SUCH A GOOD STUDENT that I got my lab in A WHOLE WEEK EARLY. You might say that indeed.

Anyways, let me tell you about last night. Okay, I had intended to come home last night early so I could go to my 2 hour physics class at 9AM the next morning. Whatever, skipped that class. So last night, John Ingham, Knobody, Farmland, Diana, and myself went to some UT hangout called Brunny's. Sorta half pub, half club thing. Me and John we're driving, so I only had a Corona. (oddly, the only beer I don't get drunk off of) So basically, Diana, Knobody and Farmland get juiced. Knobody is a dancing machine when
he's drinkin'. Diana kept looking into her cup of Mike's and kept saying she was dizzy when she swirled it. Farmland kept alternating between chants of "UofT! UofT!" and "Yeeooomaan!" (It's a York thing, go figure) So anyways, the subway ride was some funny shit. We got onto this car filled with a bunch of high people, and everyone started doing chin ups. We got off at Finch, Farmland spewed all over the ground, Ingham peed on a lampost, Knobody apparently was doing impersonations, Diana just seemed really confused and I was Laughing: Laughing all the way to the bank.

Anyways, that was fun. Thanks guys. Keep dancin', I'll tell ya when to stop.

Gay Software Engineering Online Quiz - Thursday 9/13/01 7:55pm EST

Ok well, I just did the online open-book quiz for the course SE 101. It's so lame, I got 6/12. WTF. Average is 7.21/12. What kind of bullshit is that. Good thing you can drop one quiz at the end, and each quiz is only worth 1% of your final mark.

Anyhow, today was such crappiness. I spent like 4 hours trying to get my JBuilder5 to work, and it is finally working. It finally worked when a really cool friend from 2nd year came and visited me and fixed my JBuilder in like 10 min and got it to work. That was elite. I still have to finish up CS 130 lab and assignment. The CS Lab is due in 40 hours. I guess I'm gonna do that back in Toronto.

I saw a documentary on the Nike basketball commercial aka the video Freestyle by Afrika Bambaata and Hydraulic Funk. That video is the SHIT. Oh talking about music, hip-hop without rapping is GOOD. Also, I really want the MP3 of the tune "Black Hole" by Moving Fusion. If anyone can find it for me, I'll give you a dollar.

Pickles - Thursday 9/13/01 12:50AM EST

Ha ha ha, they sell those huge pickles in one of the cafeteria's on campus, minus the stick. But if you ever want a huge pickle, just come to Waterloo and you can find them.

I Wanna Play Too! - Thursday 9/13/01 12:14 AM EST

Guess what Guru, I can indent my shit...can you?  *Muahahaha* Ok, enough of that.  It's been a while since I've gotten in touch with a lot of you, so I think  I want to let you guys know what's going on over here.  Things might not be as crazy here as they are in Waterloo, but I've got my two cents to share.  So this is me trying to play with the big kids.

I love how everyone in Toronto is lazy.  Nobody has bothered to buy their textbooks, so in all my classes, the teachers don't assign work.  I love it.  All the lack of work gives me time to wander around downtown and chill with friends.  I've been seeing a lot of old faces from St. Rob's and well other various people from around here.

Well, what to say... Oh yeah being in the heart of Toronto gets me free newspapers, so I do the Jumble everyday.  Or at least I try (limited vocab and all).  I cleaned out my wallet today, it was going okay, and then all of a sudden my stomach started wrenching.  Yeah, that's right, I found the pickle on a stick receipt.  SHIT there's that pain again!  Well in an effort to appease George I'm gonna end this here, rather than move it to the "stuff page".  Much more to come tomorrow after we visit the Brunny for pub night.  I'll give you a call Liston.  Skieblade, drop by.

Since when were bigger classes better?... - Wednesday 9/12/01

Compared to Waterloo, U of T is a better university because there are so many people in each class that the teacher has more time to interact with students on an individual basis. Students sitting near the back of the stadiums at the U of T will also be able to see the board better because the further away you sit from it, the clearer everything becomes. U of T is also a better university because unlike Waterloo, the U of T accepts just about every Tom, Dick and Harry that wants to get a post secondary education. In conclusion, I would choose U of T over any other university simply because of the enormous class sizes and "hotel style" residences.

I wonder what was going through the mind of the guy in the world trade center that looked out his window and saw a Boeing 747 flying towards him, or the people in the plane that realized they weren't headed for LA any more. Must have been a pretty fucked up experience.

On another note, my algebra teacher is a stupid dumb fuck boring piece of shit old white guy that puts me to sleep every time I attend his class. I'm eating around 7 meals a day so my meal plan is going to run out of money soon. Mr. Noodles sucks, stupid cheap ass imitation noodles, what a bloody waste of money. My psych and music teachers are really cool though, and my calculus teacher isn't that bad I guess. Anyways, I'll be back in TO this weekend as well as the weekend of the 21'st to attend Andrew's wedding. I'll give you TO people a call when I get back, until then.

My boring day, Campus Crew... a few updates and notes to posters - Wednesday 9/12/01 11:00pm EST

Today was sorta crappy. Actually, I'm not exactly enjoying my schedule very much. 8:30 to 3:20 is tiring. Especially when your last 2 classes are in the dreaded RCH (aka the underground engineering lecture hall that's under construction) Yuck. For an instant I really wanna switch out into Comp Sci. I fell asleep in Algebra today. Last time, I fell asleep in class was back in OAC Chemistry when I had the monotone Kirk.

Do any of you guys know WTF is Campus crew? I saw a lot of people wearing this brand of clothes. I've never heard of it. Is this like a waterloo thing?

Hmm remember I told you I met this cute white girl during frosh week. Well I haven't seen her since that time at Fed Hall, even though she's in Comp Sci and probably has classes in the Math building. Too bad. She was pretty cool and she seemed to deviate against the norm. Perhaps that's another reason I wanna switch to Comp Sci, haha, j/k.

I also updated the random pic. I think that's an appropriate one.

Oh to the news posters: If your post is very long, ex: like Skieblade's post yesterday. Put it into a separate page or something and just upload it in the /stuff folder. If you're doing that you'll also need to update the link in the stuff page which is located in /stuff/index.html. Anyhow you ppl should know what I'm talking about. K bye.

So I Read It Again To See If It Made Any Sense... - Wednesday 9/12/01 4:20 pm EST

Man, I heard of "experimenting" at University, and you Guru Mike take the cake. hahaha. So what are you guys into now? PCP? Crack? Smack? Stoli??

That message was the most drug induced post I have ever read in my life.

anyways, so I'm into my second week of school here. There are so many fucking labs I dunno if I'll be able to keep up. Skipped my algebra class today to study physics. WTF, skipping to study. Go figure. I also have so many other things to do, I'm just too lazy to get to it. I haven't even cancelled my Goodlife membership yet. Oh well. I'm finding it really hard to concentrate, let alone stay awake in my classes. Once I get into my routine though, I think it'll get better. Oh yeah, on the day of the attack, they closed down Eaton's centre. Like someone at school said, "We're being attacked. Quick, shut down the GAP" (Mike, you know what I'm talkin' about.) Oh yeah, are you guys still doing Bonzai nights?

ANYWAYS, these frickin' bees keep following me whenever I drink coffee outside on campus. I hate bees. AND NO, the joke isn't funny any more (in case you were wondering).

ANYWAYS, I've decided to phase out those emotes that everyone uses online. Stuff like :), :(, will be omitted unless I feel absolutely compelled to use 'em.

On a final note, Tricia left for England on Monday. She'll be missed.

Keep on dancin', I'll tell ya when to stop,

The world almost ended yesterday - Wednesday 9/12/01 3:57pm EST

Ok this is how close were to the universe collapsing. Take your arms and place them shoulder width apart. And that is how close the universe was to collapsing. You see in Universe, if you were born under the proper stars, you would have a clone, possibly evil. In Waterloo, there is a Wesley Tam from St. Robert and also coincidentally, his clone. Evil or not is undetermined. When the original and clone touch, the very fabric of the universal will tear, thus causing the collapse of the universe. Yesterday at South Campus hall, there was a Rogers AT&T booth. At it was Wesley and Wesley clone. They were shoulder width apart. If they got any closer, thus the world would have ended. That was one of the scariest days of my life.

Some stuff I should have posted before. - Wednesday 9/12/01 11:44am EST

Hmz, here's some stuff I should have posted before, but instead didn't cuz I was ranting about the American tragedy.  First of all, congratulations to Backstab for owning me in the first week of football.  I think this was an aberration and things should be returning to normal next week =)  However, congrats Backstab - but don't get used to the feeling.

Secondly - Guru, you obviously don't know what a big class is.  You said your psych class is crammed with 250 students?  Well, I'm not taking psych personally, but there's like 1000+ students in one class here at UofT.  Also, in biology, there are 1400 students in one class, so don't complain about having huge classes =)  Gosh, my physics, chem and calc classes are larger than your psych class.  It must be the fact that Waterloo doesn't have as many students cuz they're not a first class university and as such, less students = smaller class size.

Hmz, what else to say?  Oh yeah, I officially joined the Korean Club yesterday.  So I am officially part of the Korean Club, the Asian Focus Club, and the PreMed Society.  Hmz, that's about it for clubs - lots of discounts at least =)

Oh yeah, Backstab, for football, do you wanna incorporate over under thingys?  Or will that make things too complicated?  Up to you man - I really couldn't care less, cuz I'll own you no matter what happens =)  LOL.

Oh yeah.  What's up with the random pic Backstab?  BOO to that!  You haven't even changed it in sooooooooooo long!  What a crappy webmaster (just joking =) )  Haha, but maybe change the pic now?  It's been a long time.  Just a suggestion from one of your subordinates.

That's it for now.  Peace out from UofT.

EXTRA EXTRA  "AMERICA UNDER ATTACK" - Special Toronto Star Thingy. - Tuesday 9/11/01 5:12pm EST

Unless you live in like a frickin hole, you all know by now that the USA is under attack.  George Bush was visiting an elementary school in Flordia while this happened, and someone had to whisper in his year that the World Trade Center was the target of plane crashes.  I bet George Bush started swearing his @$$ off and all those little kids started crying.  Lol.

I shouldn't be poking fun at these events though.  I'll just regurgitate what was said in the Toronto Star Special Edition cuz I don't think you guyz in Waterloo get it.  Well, actually, you guyz can get it off CNN, but I'll post anyways.  Credits go to the Toronto Star for this. Click here to view it. (post edited by Backstab)

USA under attack, and some miscellaneous stuff. - Tuesday 9/11/01 3:20pm EST

OMG. I couldn't believe it when my calc prof told me today that the World Trade Center fell. I went back to my res and watched CNN for a while. Holy shit. So I called home to ask my parents to see if that affected my brother. He's living near Columbia University, upper part of Manhattan. Fortunately, he's ok, and he has a perfect view of the explosions. People were knocking on his door at 9am asking to see if they can take pictures in his room of World Trade Center up in smoke. Btw, go to www.cnn.com , it has lots of info there.

Anyway I think whoever did that were a big bunch of morons. That really didn't prove much. I mean, those terrorists did jack shit anyway by killing a whole bunch of civilians. I hope this event won't turn into World War 3. Seriously.

Tuesday is my best day of the week. I have afternoons off. For the first time I met Joanna from St. Robs today. I was walking near the Math building on my way to SCH to buy a few books and I saw her and we talked for a min. Good to know that she's still around.

Racist Love, Spitz and Swallows and Lather Rinse and Repeat - Tuesday 7:30 am EST 9/ 11/ 01

Let's start with yesterday, Math preparedness test at 7:00 pm. Now I studied a bit, and it wasn't that bad. I answered only 21 out of 25, but i guessed on one of them so technically 20 out of 25. The double angle trig questions and calc questions were gay. We never memorized them, ever. What was freaky was the fact people left an hour after the exam started. i thought either the rest of the exam was incredibly hard or i was coming to the end. I did after all space out for about a minute. Whatever, either way I'm probably going to take the suggested tutorial courses anyways. Remember in high school i was above average. Now I'm in a room full of above average students. Plus I have the early year work ethic still. Oh well i digress, i ramble too much

I still can't figure out the damn tab key for HTML. Somebody in front page, hit tab so i can read the damn code. For all who don't know yet, i'm updating with notepad/WordPad because HTML is EZ and frontpage is a shameful. Yes even for Skieblade.

Oh yes, Skieblade, your thing for korean girls is umm scary. Me personally i'm not racist at all. I LOVE ALL pretty asian girls. j/k.

I think i'm going home next weekend. Probably by bus

My psych prof is pretty cool so far. He spat in his coffee infront of the class and drank it. Just to demonstrate in and out psychology. Because technically you own spit is not gross to swallow. But as logical as that is, we still are grossed out. I think that might be one of my good classes of the year. Also met/remet a child hood friend i haven't seen in a long time. Elane Oei, we used to play in the streets a long time ago. But alas she is 1-2 years older then me and i haven't seen her since like grade 6. Didn't think she'd take psych in 2nd or 3rd year. FYI i'd give her a 6.5 or 7. Anyways our psych class was "packed up the ass" as andrew would like to refer to his colon. Close to 270 students, I hope i can get a desk in that class.

Oh well time to go do my calc and shower.

Crazy Software Engineering + some of my opinions on this week's Sports  - Monday 9/10/01 9:00pm EST

Yeah so today was the first day of school. Well it wasn't too bad. All my classes have 100 people in them. 5 lectures in one day wasn't too bad as I thought it would be, only 50 minutes per lecture. PHYS 115 (Mechanics) was pretty crazy. Today the prof just went through like almost 2 chapters of material in one class. From the basics of kinematics, and we stopped just before we got to projectile motion. Wow. In OAC we did that in like 2 weeks. Today we did all that in 1 lecture $$. People are gonna get screwed over if they sux in physics.

I finally bought my U of Waterloo hooded sweatshirt. It's $61.99 to be exact. It's nice, it's a little oversized (I bought extra large) but it fits pretty nicely actually. Talking about clothing, I got my breakbeat science t-shirts thanks to my parents.

In sports, it's not as bad as Skieblade describes it... oh wait it is. WTF? Lleyton Hewitt won US Open. Well I don't like him that much. I'm not even gonna talk about how lame the officials rigged the draw so to get the Williams sisters in the first ever primetime final. That was fucking stupid. It's been 6 years in a row that the Williams sisters got draws on the opposite side. That's 1/32 chance. Damn cheaters. Then in NFL, the Vikings LOST??? and Patriots lost also. But then again, I'm owning Skieblade in the predictions. I'm 10-4, he's 7-6 $$

I still have to do some reading in SE 101. Damn, I think I'm gonna go do that. I can sleep in tomorrow because tomorrow's tutorial is cancelled. WOOT!

Um... - Monday 9/10/01 1:00AM EST

Well, what can I say.  Our friend Etheral here has just attempted to dis me.  All right, in a week, I'll have more chick friends than there are chicks at Waterloo - in other ones, I just need one.  However, I can't really dispute Grade 5 Andrew.  Grade 5 Andrew was a pretty nerdy and weird dude.  Well, I guess things haven't changed =)  However, that is still better than being the ghetto serial homosexual nercrophilic pedophilic rapist that our friend Etheral is.  Well, it's not that bad, but, oh well, that's a very cool description =)  At least I can boast that I haven't hooked up with toothpick (you know who I mean Etheral) yet.  HAHAHA... Maybe you two will hook up again!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Ok, this was pretty lame.  I just did this to respond to Etheral's message.  I bet right now he's in Guru's room roughing it up =)  Haha.  Well, that's it for now.  Sorry for making your page even more lame Backstab =)

Classes Start Tomorrow - Sunday 9/9/01

Time to shake and bake and rock and roll. Classes start tomorrow, I hate classes already, this sucks. I really don't have anything to say, I just wanted to insult Andrew because it's fun, so that's why I'm posting. First of all, it's no wonder that you're depressed, I mean common, if I were you, I would be depressed as well! And it's not how many chicks you see, it's how many chicks become your friends. If I wanted to see them, I would just look on the internet. It was my first time doing laundry today as well, but I don't see why that would make our lives sad. It just proves that we have better things to do than laundry, and well.. I guess grade 5 Andrew got his kicks from the smell of bleach and fabric softener. Anywho, that's all for now, as always, didn't mean to lower your self-esteem Andrew. Don't forget, you've gone to BA for 5 years, you should be able to take anything.

- Etheral

A very sad day in sports - Sunday 9/9/01

Well, let's see.  THE VIKINGS LOST!! WTF!? AGAINST CAROLINA!!  That's as lame as Henin losing to Serena Williams.  And then, Peter Sampras losing in STRAIGHT SETS AGAIN!?  WHAT THE HELL!?  How gay, yes it's a sad day in sports.

So yeah, here I was, depressed and all, walking to New College to grab something to eat.  My day got instantly better right there.  Lez see, in the cafeteria alone, I saw at least 5 chicks.  That's already 5 more than there are at Waterloo.  There were only like 100 people there too cuz I went at a late time.  That's a frickin good percentage (for those that are mentally impaired, remember, there are guyz and girls in the caf, not just girls.  So the chick rate is higher than 5%)

Why the heck does everyone else on this page post that they're doing laundry?  Is it their first time or something and it's a breakthrough in their lives?  What sorry lives they live =)

Well, classes start tomorrow.  1500 students in my bio lecture.  That probably means 200 hot chicks.  Which means I am utterly looking forward to class =)

Aight, that's it for now.  Peace out for Innis =)

Frosh Week is Over - Sunday 9/9/01 11:30 AM EST

Well my last update on the waterloo report is up. Frosh week is over.

Class starts on Monday. I'm sorta looking forward to it. I just don't want to do the math exam. Oh... and I have to do laundry today. My parents are coming up, lol, to help me to do laundry. Great idea no? I also need to get my laptop configured, I haven't taken it out yet. I guess I'm gonna do it now.

I don't think I've posted an opinion on girls yet. So here's mine. For some reason there aren't too many good looking Asian girls. There are a few, I met a nice white girl the other day.

Also, NFL predictions are up!! Yes. Skieblade is a moron, he sent it to me just after I put up my last post.

- Backstab

I'm Out of Clean Pants - Saturday 9/8/01 1:40PM EST

I'm out of clean pants. I'll have to do laundry today.

In other news, why have all my friends gone girl crazy lately??? Is there something in the water supply or something? I was talking to Dave about this earlier, and he was saying how low the female students were at Waterloo.

As well, Skieblade, you're fixation for Korean girls is... um, disturbing to say the least. hahahahaha. Also, I heard that there's some bridge at UT that students jump off of. Hey, I'd jump too if I went to UT. hahahahaha.

Anyways, lets leave that at that. Time to fly my friends.

UofT Rules,  The end of an era, and more. - Saturday 9/8/01

Well, let's see.  Backstab, Etheral and Guru all go to Waterloo, and I bet they're all regretting it now.  For example, let me quote our dear Etheral: "I expected to see some good looking Asian girls, but unfortunately, they are non-existent in the math faculty."  HAHAHAHAHA!  As for Backstab and Guru - wait, this is Backstab's page, and he told me not to post any sexual/gay messages, so I'll leave it up to your imaginations to figure out what they need to be satisfied.  I guess it really doesn't matter then which school they go to...

As for our friend Liston, who is currently going to Ryerson, at least he knows what he's doin.  Let me quote him also: "I'm gonna go out for coffee and a smoke with UT people."  Lol, can't even chill with the Ryerson people.  That's pretty sad.  =)

Well, what can I say?  UofT is great!  Lots of fine girls everywhere, amazing food (well, I am next door to Chinatown) and amazing people (although I can't say the other Universities don't have amazing people).  Classes start on Monday - I'm actually looking forward to it.  Haha.

Yes, and it is the end of an era.  I will no longer be posting wrestling updates as I don't have cable here at UofT, and I'm too lazy to go up to the second or fourth floors to get to watch it on the multiple 50 inch tv's they have around here.  Yupz, so that's the end.  The legacy of the one Raw Update, and the amazing "home" button.  Hahahaha.

Hmz, I seem to have been very wrong in my tennis predictions.  Henin and Rafter got kicked off the courts in a hurry.  Damn.  Oh well, GO SAMPRAS!  And as for the Williams sisters, I hope they both run into each other on the court and both knock each other unconscious - hahahaha.

Hmz, did I mention we have 50 inch tv's here at Innis?  Actually, we only have two in the residence, but that's already pretty good I guess.  50 inch Sony's - DAMN =)  There are also pool tables on the second and fourth floors (like the tv's) and there is a weight room on the sixth floor.  Oh yeah, there are also pianos on the sixth floor =)  We also have T3 connections here.  Suckers to everyone else =)

Yeah, I've been AWOL for a while, but I'm back so it's all cool.  Haha, I joined the premed club, "Asian Focus" club, and the Korean club.  MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm... Koreans =) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

What are you talking about no NFL Predictions?  I already sent them to you Backstab.  What a dummy... hahaha.  Oh yeah, I'd also like to say Randy Moss is God.

Anyways, that's about it for now.  Peace out from the best University in Canada =)

Waterloo updates and staff page - Saturday 9/8/01 11:00 AM EST

You've guessed it, I've updated the waterloo report.

The staff page is up now! If you're a staff plz fill it in yourself. The faq and the "stuff" page should be up by tonight or tomorrow.

Etheral joined us yesterday. Welcome him aboard. Btw, if you're gonna post, use Verdana font to keep it consistent. If this site continues to grow, we might need a new server to accomadate all the posters. And WE DEFINITELY need CGI. I think we got like 60-70 hits yesterday. Skieblade seems to be AWOL again. I'm not sure why, but we probably won't have NFL predictions this weekend. :(

Hmm, I need to set up my labtop soon. Class starts on Monday.

Oh How I wish I were one year younger... - Saturday 9/8/2001 2:20 AM EST

Well... what can I say... the math faculty at Waterloo is a major disappointment. I went to the "Festival of the ages" today which was a dance organized for the math faculty located at the campus bar and was extremely disappointed. I expected to see some good looking Asian girls, but unfortunately, they are non-existent in the math faculty. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.

I'm kinda buzzed right now because I had 4 shots and quite a bit of beer, so that's all I'm going to write for now. Mumble fuckin math faculty mumble mumble...

- Etheral
