Getting Back To the Coding Mood - Friday 11/23/01 11:58pm EST
Wow I'm finally getting used to Java again. It is quite a pain in the ass but I'm getting the hang of object oriented stuff now. For my final project, I made a lot of the GUI stuff... it's quite fun actually, I couldn't stop coding once I started. I even skipped my Algebra and C&O lectures just to code. Damn.
You know what, ICQ takes up a lot of system resources. It's a pretty shitty program.
On a side note, I read an article on the U of Waterloo newspaper today that there is a club in downtown Kitchener, has a drum'n' bass Thursday night. Anyhow interested in going? Maybe not next Thursday, but if it's the 1st Thursday of 1B that'll be cool. Christine said she wants to check it out. So do I... I wanna see that guy spin d'n'b.
BTW - I'm back in TO. Watching Meaning of Life sounds like fun to me. HAHA.

Wow, it's been ages since I've updated. Wassup everyone? Oh yeah... Waterloo is really really ghetto. My goodness, I don't know how you guyz stay alive there. I guess why that's why everyone who goes there does well. There's nothing to do but study, so yeah, what a bunch of nerds =)

I'm goin to the Raptor's game this Sunday. Carter vs. Iverson. This is going to be a 2 man show. Go raps go. On another bright note, the leafs lost on wednesday, falling 4-2 to the sabres. Did anyone know that the Red Wings are like 19-3 this year? WTF man, they are unstoppable. 19-3. Oh my goodness.

Finally Finished my SE 101 Ethics Memo - Thursday 11/22/01 0:55am EST
Yuck. This thing took too long. I hate writing stuff that's ambiguous and retarded. It's really difficult to make up a 2 page BS memorandum based on the little facts they give you. Plus I'm not a very good BSer.
Two football games tomorrow. Thanksgiving week for the Americans.
In Civ 3... I'm destroying Germans now. I'm getting sorta bored at it, I might start a new game, not sure exactly.
Guru, can I delete your stuff yet? It's like 2.5 gigs and it's somewhat of a waste of a space.
Other gaming news: Fifa Soccer 2002 is awesome from what I read from Gamespot. Anyhow, it looks really good.

Discrete Math is Gay - Tuesday 11/20/01 5:30pm EST
I'll tell you why it's gay. The assigned homework is almost always impossible. I can always be able to do question 1, and at most 2a) and then can't get any of the rest of them.
Not only that, my TA is the biggest motherfucking piece of shit I've seen so far. To be honest, I have never seen such a stuck up, shitfaced, assmunching showoff before in my life. He pretends to be smart and all and can't answer any questions. And he's such a jackoff when he comes to marking. He will give you 1/4 even if you have the right answer, but not the proper explanations. I MEAN WTF, I got 1/4 on a combinatorics question because he wanted me to SHOW my work? WTF, you want me to show you my train of thought? What an ass. Then he yells at all of us how we always write crap on our answers and we are all stupid to not ask questions (when he can't answer half of them), then gloating about how he's all that.
I just don't like people with this kind of attitude. He's the kind of people who will gloat like hell in front of us, and shuts up when someone smart comes in (ex. our prof). A good example is today: he yelled at one guy "Hey, thanks for showing up on time." to some guy who was about 2 minutes late. Seriously, cut that crap out. You are a fucking TA. Oh yeah, the only reason why I'm not mentioning his name on this post, it's because he told us today that he "will be marking our exams, you better watch out"... yeah yeah fuck off and perhaps go back to study more combinatorics, maybe it will get you sexually excited.

Discrete Math - Tuesday 11/20/01 12:01am EST
Yup, I'm back in the groove of studying again. Gawd, I hope it's not a temporary thing... hahahaha.
One week of hardcore reading should get me back on track. I'm on week 11 of Discrete (Next week will be 14) And maybe 3 weeks back on algebra, but it should be okay. It doesn't seem hard at all, just the sheer amounts of work involved (minus a few assignments) gets to me.
As I was reading my Discrete Math book, I came across some strange quote. It's here. I really don't know why it's there. Watch for the italics/normal print. Maybe that makes the difference. I'm considering reading "Alice Through The Looking Glass". Seems like there's a lot more there than one realizes.
So yeah, the only reason I like Discrete is because of the textbook. It seems to answer specific questions I have while reading the text. It's almost scary how it answers questions as I think about them.
I stopped studying at around 10:30pm to take a break, but came across this really neat article. It's about University life downtown mainly, and for those of you elsewhere.

I owned France - Monday 11/19/01 9:45pm EST
I destroyed France in Civilization 3. I had to take out Paris like three times, because I renamed the Paris that I took over to Yellow Paris and they kept naming their new city to Paris every time I raze it. I'm owning it up with Cavalry.
We went to Fiasco's today for wing night. Their wings were 29 cents each so not too bad. The Cajun wings were a bit over-seasoned but they were good. The waitress that served us was a lamer though, it took her something like 25 minutes to come back after I got the menu from her. She either had the runs or she's just a really really shitty waitress. Plus it took her like fucking another 15 minutes just to print out the bill because of her incompetentcy. Anyhow, my bill came up to $3.10 and I payed her 3.20. Sorta nice because I got rid of all my pennies.

Sunday Night At Finch Station Is Not A Good Experience - Sunday 11/18/01 10:52pm EST
I'm such a retard. Okay. I know why the coach bus didn't drop me at the University. The schedule is in 24hr time! I'm such an idiot. Skieblade pointed this out on our bus ride back to Toronto.
Freakin' Finch station is so damn crazy on Sunday. Some dude shoplifted some food from the store upstairs and the clerks were chasing after him. The bus ride was crazy too. We stopped in front of the Royal York hotel and Skieblade said, "Royal York? Isn't that the haunted hotel?" And then some dude said, "It's the closest one to the subway."
This makes no sense whatsoever. First of all, we were talking to each other and not to this dude, and secondly, that answer doesn't even correspond to the question.
Wish we could have gotten into those dance clubs. Damn minors! Oh well, I take comfort in the fact that most everyone will be of age by the beginning of December. That means we can all party downtown on Christmas break, which should be an interesting experience indeed.
Yeah, I'm not doing any work tonight. I'll double up tomorrow. Frickin' Euclidean N-space! Bah.
It's nice to be back home. It feels like I haven't slept in a bed for ages. If that lounge couch had a pillow, that would have rocked.

Last night was quite funny. Liston suggested the idea that we should just watch "Monty Python's Life of Brian" since we weren't gonna do anything. So we all drank some Heineken and watched it at like 3am. Big up DarkAesthir aka Nick for the download and to sacrifice his bandwidth for all of us lot.
Man I'm so lazy... both me and Tom didn't have the NFL picks. So we decided to skip this week and wait for week 11. Skieblade if we have counted your picks you would've gotten slaughtered again! Lots of upsets this week.
I have 2 gigs of shit on my Guru's shit. Man I have never seen such a shitty collection of MP3s in my life before. Anyway I'm sending this 2 gigs of crap to Guru now and at the moment... ICQ is screwed, it says the upload is -21% done.

It's been three weeks in a row now that I haven't updated on Friday. LOL! Liston and Skieblade are up here at Waterloo. Hard to believe but I did do a lot more work than I expected.
Damn. Civ 3 is pretty hype. I'm doing really really well in this game I started. I destroyed Japan and India basically. The year is 1575 AD and I'm Chinese. Riders kick so much ass it's not funny. I'm about to get Cavalry in about 4 turns? I love attacking my neighbours and raze about 5 to 6 cities or so, then demand peace treaty + 30 gold per turn. I racked up so much cash that way.
