Thank God for Bell Curves - Friday 12/21/01 5:20pm EST
The person who invented the bell curve is a genius. Without them, our marks would be shitty. I mean, how can your mark go up after an exam, when you come out of an exam knowing that you did shitty on it?? Well, the answer to that would be bell curves.
Good news to all who took Math 137, because the marks have been adjusted. My prof upped my class' marks on his site and I somehow ended up getting a 93. There is absolutely NO WAY IN HELL that I could've gotten 94 on that exam.
Same thing with Physics 115, marks have been belled. I got an 86 in that class, I thought I would get around a 70 something after that nasty exam.

So far... I was discussing this with Liston the other day and these are what we have in mind.
1. Forum - for general discussions, non staff members can post and talk shit about us etc.
2. Reviews - just random reviews of anything, I mean anything... I'm gonna write some whenever I feel like.
3. Ask Liston - haha. You can basically send him any mail and he will post it up and answer you in his section. Apparently.
Also, Guru has been talking about the possibility of doing a graphical overhaul with this page. Not exactly sure when this is going to happen, but I think it would be cool.
www.polarisprime.com is also another possibility. I'll work on that if you guys are interested.
Anyone with any suggestions or comments, tell me ASAP.

About time I agree!! And that early calculus avg is sooo rediculus considering everyone thought it was a hard exam and the average only went down 3% from midterm where the final is 60%. Think the unthinkable.
Another exam that has sever problems is CO 103. The exam that was dreaded because the course was extremely hard. I studied the most for this exam, like 20+ hours of pure studying. I get a call from Joanna Atlee my director of my program and she asks me did I write that exam. I go, "Of course I wrote that exam," she goes thats what I thought. And then goes on to tell me it must have been misplaced. But Paul Schellenberg my CO prof is on vacation in India and she goes on vacation before he gets home, so this may be a problem that wont get results to easy. That SUCKS. And of course having my luck it only happens to me. Enough for now.

EXAMS ARE DONE AND I'M HOME! - Wednesday 12/19/01 2:10am EST
Wow. 1A Term is OVER finally. I haven't posted for a while. Since last Saturday - shit this is a record. Anyhow, on this post I'm just gonna talk about what I did during the last few days.
Sunday - Did nothing but studied for CS.
Monday - I did the CS Exam, went out for Fiascos for wings. Watched parts of the Rams vs Saints game and then played Diablo 2 for the whole night.
Tuesday - Came back to TO from Waterloo. 2 hour drive because of a traffic jam on 401. That sucked. Anyhow, got my comp back and everything working. Went out for dinner with the Waterloo guys + Liston, went to Liston's place and tested out the Gamecube.
In other news, there will be a few changes that will be made with this site in the next week or so. We're still discussing on this.
And finally, this was a portion of the email I got from my Calc prof.
I was very pleased

The average final grade was 87% and 9 of you earned
a mark of 100%! Further, nobody from our class
failed the course.
um.... that's disgusting. THIS INSANITY HAS GOT TO STOP.

The only thing that would have fixed my mood has happened so I am happy. Well I guess happy is understatement. And might I say, it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Whats on the plan boyz. What or who are we going to terrorize this holiday season.
First of all cliff man, just wait a month and buy an xbox. Its a much better system than PS2, specs wise, and capabilities wise. You can turn your xbox into a multiplayer system on the net with a lan connection to your cable.. Come on nothing is better than that.
Newayz I'll make this a short one because the parents are coming out and were going to a family Christmas dinner, and then I'll come back and study a bit (well not really). Take it ease all. I'm using Frontpage 2002, get with the times.

Well Looks Like I'm Spending Christmas With Liston - Saturday 12/15/01 5:50am
First things first, yeah I know it's technically Sunday, but in the tradition of all my after midnite posts, it's still Saturday. But we got a little Time Crisis going on here, somebody fix this.
Well down to business, reading our long ass posts, I don't always get to read the poster's name till I get to the end. So today as I'm reading I see

So I was like damn who is this, please be somebody that lives in T.O. so I scroll down to see Liston's name. Then I remembered to breathe. Melee was one of the big reasons I wanted to get gamecube, there were a couple other games, but Melee was long awaited. So now the great leech that I am, will be living at Liston's. Oh ya, and am now free to pick up a PS2. Stupid Sony and there expensive ass systems. Did I mention I had 3 offers for hot PS2s at 3 bills each that fell thru? Yeah, good ol' Jazz, Fat Bastard, and a friend of Fal's brother. I keep finding the money and then it falls thru then I spend the money then another deal arises, then i find the money then it falls thru, I can't stand it. I think I'll just wait until after school is done, so I don't have the eternal distraction, and I can get it for 3 bills legally.
There are a lot of wicked games lined up for PS2 much more than Gamecube, and well I was severely let down by N64s poor game selection. How will I ever love again....err umm too weird for you guys eh? Pretend I never said that.
Oh ya, there's this phat street racing game for PS2 dunno if it's released here yet, 'cuz my boy'z got a japanese and an american PS2 (damn rich mofo!) so he has some Japanese stuff... But the game was in english so it's either released here, or Japanese games are in English...now that I think about it, it has to be released here. Oh ya it's called something like Tokyo Street Racing. Soo damn cool, pure import fest. *Knobody wipes the drool from his chin* phat game.

The engineers are all gone, it's boring as hell here. Damn administration, why didn't they make all the exams end on the same day. The stream 4 people are starting to move out, who the hell am I going to pester now that Mike is gone? Streams are so stupid, who the fuck came up with the ideas for streams??. I bet some queer ass frisky homosexual is going to move into where Jin and Phil lived. We've already had one freak of nature move in next to Vince, Bloody FUCK!. Exams are starting to piss me off, what the hell, my last one is on the 19'th, fuck damn shit! Oh yeah, beer makes me sleepy now. I feel so anxious right now and I'm fuckin pissed off for no apparent reason. Fuck CS, Fuck Waterloo, Fuck life. I'm going to blast some music, Fuck quiet hours.

Well boredom strikes when you least expect it. I thought since everyone is giving recollections of events, I thought I would look back on one of the lowliest weeks in recent memory. Well its pretty boring studying for CS so what else do I got to do, other than play with my self, well lets just not go there because that's not what happening. Well Serge is gone and half of my friends on the floor moved out because they are on 4 stream so that leaves about 6 of us who actually can stand each others company and have a lot of fun on our floor, but who knows who will move in.
Well lets see, what questions are floating around in my head. First overall, I have lost all willingness to drink and through back a couple. Like, what the hell is up with that. Well I think I know why I'm like that and lets just say bad experiences with alcohol do have a psychological effect. You guys going on and drinking like fishes and causing problems and don't even call me, I'm just well offended. Lets see last night I played Frisbee, also partook in about 4 snowball fights, made a late night trip to McDonalds, almost got kicked in the head by the local drunks, and watched two movies without an ounce of Alcohol. I think Linear Algebra just does some fucking weird shit with peoples mind. Like who the hell cares what the fuck an EIGENSPACE is. It comes to a point where your fed up with math when you just start using weird math terms and numbers in regular conversation. I just have to get out of this place called Village. At times it seems like a prison and Monday is our parole date, but then because our university is year round we gotta be back on the 2nd. Which seriously sucks.
Lets see, holidays what does it hold for us in the future. Well hopefully a lot of good times I won't be able to remember. Many things are planned with friends and we will just wait and see which plans span out. A trip to see what Casino Rama is all about is probably in the cards.

Well our don is a bitch. She took away the bowling ball we stole fair and square. No all be it we were rolling it down the halls at 2am and waking everyone up but it was certainly interesting. Now another comment about what Backstab said about being in SE. Now normally I wouldn't be studying my ass off for exams I would know I would pass but I'm studying to trying to get those small marks from things that I would make mistakes on just to keep up with our fucking program. Like what the hell is a 90% average for midterm for a class. I don't think I was in one class ever in my life where an average was even above 80% let alone 90%. I have to get good marks to keep up with the genius' who don't have anything better to do but study. Can't everyone just shoot for mediocrity. Is that soo much to ask?
Why are the San Diego Chargers losing so much? Are they taking lessons from the Minnessota Vikings?
Life just seems like a never ending feris wheel of disappointments during exam time. Bad exams, marks lost, disappointments in life. And just think this is the holidays. I just can't wait till I'm home. Does it even feel like the holidays?? Where's the overall Christmas cheer? I think I'm turning into the grinch. If no Christmas hits on the 25th just blame it on me.
Well I think this makes up for a lot of posts I wanted to do but just never did. And don't be depressed reading this, just take the humorous out take on everything. I'm just venting frustrations and am really in a decent mood.

..but not me, I still have CS. Everyone was drinking yesterday. I think I drank quite a lot, but not as screwed up as I was at the Brunny obviously. Even though I was going 'oh damn I can't really feel my hands', it was just because of the cold and I was just acting drunk.
Remember you can drink to a point where hot girls will start appearing out of the blue? Gotta go down to the Brunny and do that again. Last night I was in some guy's room in North 4 and I was just staring at Uma Thurman on the Pulp Fiction Poster. I was like... woah shit, she's hot. Guru agreed.
It's sorta weird but me, Guru, Joel and a couple others were singing the song "Good Day Sunshine" by The Beatles. That's a good drinking song. By the way that was one of the songs they played at the Brunny. Ohhh man...
I'm starting to not care about my marks anymore. I've lowered my expectations for each course. Yesterday I did a pretty sloppy job on my Algebra exam because quite frankly, I don't care. I left my answer wrong for #2 because my page was too messy and it'll take me too much time to correct it. Then I skipped a question because it had like the ugliest numbers. LOL. Being in SE sometimes really pisses the shit out of me because if you do bad on an exam you know you will end up below average. But whatever, I think my physics mark dropped about 20 marks after the exam. Algebra dropped about 10. Calc prolly dropped a few etc. Screw it. 60% of all engineers failed the physics exam. I was pretty happy when I heard that.
But then again, Monday is the CS Exam. And I actually wanna cash that one. Yeah, I think I should.
