Last night...

...was pretty crazy. It starts off with Electronica at MC. I dropped by there for an hour from 7:45-8:45 to check out my friend's set and to show some support for the guys at UBU. Met Sean F, the drum and bass DJ who's played at Rev a few times. Cool guy, I believe he's in 3rd year right now studying Commerce?

After that I headed downtown as planned to Surface for Concord Dawn and meet up with DJ Sek. I think the part that suprised me the most was that I was a VIP guest for that party. Anyhow Sek was running a bit late, and he told me that my name should be on that guest list as either "George Backstab" or something. So I went in, asked the person to see if George was there... nope. Then one of the guys came out and asked me what's my DJ name and I was like, oh I'm Backstab. And guess what, the name "Backstab" was indeed there on the list. So yeah, got into the place for free thanks to Sek.

I met a whole bunch of people yesterday, mostly guys from the message board where I post at. It was really great that all those guys in the Toronto DNB scene there seem to appreciate the stuff I've been doing and they were all pretty safe. The hilight of the night was definitely when the promoter for the party introduced Kiljoy (half of Concord Dawn) to me and Sek before his set. Anyhow we had a small chat, shook hands and I gave him my CD. =)

So yeah... I had fun last night for sure, got back home about 4:15. Was pretty tired considering that I woke up at 8:30 and drove a lot, but definiltey worth it. Too bad I couldn't make it to Stu's, didn't think it was the best idea to crash at 4 in the morning.

Gotta go now so perhaps I'll write some more tomorrow.

Dead or Alive (No, I'm Not talking about Beach Volleyball)

Apparently Saddam might have died last night in a "Surgical Attack" by the Americans. Yeah, the Bush's are kinda messed up, the UN might collapse because of what the Americans have done. Haha, I don't read all my news from Russian newspapers, I just looked up Bin Ladens capture on google and that was the first site that had an article on it. I spend most of my time on CNN though, just don't take what they say as fact, I'm pretty sure a lot of it is stupid American propoganda. No doubt that living in the middle east would be pretty crappy, unless you were a Prince or something. They always seem to be at war, what's up with that!? I think I'm gonna look for a job elsewhere after this work term, too much Scotiabank for me, I need to diversify. Gonna see if I can find a business analyst job or something along those lines. Stewy, I think it's gonna rain tomorrow, don't know how successful Hockey will be. Ok, back to work, they've got me doing HTML now, a good change, but very tedious. What would you do if you had Goku powers? Hmmm...

War Crimes

The Man from Rage against the machine is right, If Bush attacks Iraq, then he should be tried as a war criminal. I've heard some really fuck up shit about the First Gulf war and how Bush Sr. might have used depleated urainium weapons to wipe out a region and then safely enter it in 3 days. People are starting to wonder because for some reason, Iraq has the highest rate of childhood cancer. That is some pretty messed up shit you know. I hope that Bush Sr. is tried as a war criminal along with his dumbass son.

You know what would be funny, if Iraq surrenders, Saddam dissappears off the map, Iraq holds a general election and Saddam Jr. is elected. Funny ass shit. I do think that Iraq needs a change of leadership, but i don't think that it should come from the Americans. I think the Iraq people need to change themselves if they are currently unhappy with government. Sucks to be an Iraqi citizen right now, cruel dictorial leader or countryfied, 100% grade AAA moron. It's like being caught between a rock and a stupid place.

On a lighter note, i'm comming home! I've got 3 hours of lecture today and 1 CS 251 assignment. I think i can squeeze in some time at the pac. What a great day this is going to be (for me) , i think i'll go sit outside until Morlock's class. C U l8er Ali-gate-OR

Bombs over Baghdad..........

Ya man. Bush is wacked. I really don't know what he's thinking about this one and what exactly he's trying to pull off here. Then again Etheral you're reading news off a Russian site. So articles could very well be questionable. =)

Is it true that the job market's still in the shitter? Because if it is then I'm thinking about working at Kitchener again next term. This could be trouble because I won't have a place to live. I think people at work are finally showing some respect to what I've done.. and maybe thats why I'm feeling a lot better these days with my job. But anyway there are tons of better reasons to stay in Toronto obviously. To be honest with you it really blows living in Waterloo for work term. I'm just too bored and all I do is either listen to tunes, make tunes, watch TV and that's it. I think I'm starting to miss living at home, haven't done that for a while... ever since University I've been away that I have no idea what the hell's happening at Richmond Hill. Bleh. Another reason I don't really wanna go back to my current work place is that I wanna have some experience in Software development. I REALLY don't want to do web development for the rest of my life. I really gotta think about this.

Yeah so I'm enrolled into English 119, confirmed. So my schedule is final. It should be a decent term if everything goes well.

I think I need to think of a topic for on my work term report. At this stage I have no idea what to write about. If someone has any ideas, hit me up on MSN, send me an email or PM me.

uh oh..... it's TIME FOR SOME RANDOM REVIEWS!

Update

It seems as though Bin Laden has been captured, but the US is not disclosing that information because it may have negative impact on public opinion about the US invading Iraq. "Nine al-Qaeda terrorists were arrested as a result of a police raid in Pakistan. As Pakistan’s influential newspaper News reported Friday, in accordance with unconfirmed data, Osama bin Laden or his son may be among the arrested." http://english.pravda.ru/war/2003/03/07/44136.html

Bush said yesterday that the US will invade Iraq regardless of whether Saddam leaves or not. Did you know that most of the weapons in Iraq were sold to them by the US during their war against Iran? So the US sells them weapons, and is now going to attack them because of those weapons...

U.S. Used Chemical Weapons Against Own Troops
The Pentagon has admitted that during the Cold War, it tested chemical and biological weapons on its own troops in the U.S., United Kingdom and Canada.
http://english.pravda.ru/war/2002/10/10/37987.html

Funny the things you find out when you look for news from sources aside from CNN.

I've started listening to a lot of John Mayer, his entire album is great, how often does that happen?

I'm hungry, another 20 minutes till lunch, can't wait, I wonder what the caf is serving today.

Courses/Schedule

Ok it's sorta weird but I think I've figured out my schedule.

I'm taking CS 246, CS/SE 240, SE 380, BIOL 139 (Genetics) and ENGL 119 (used to be ENGL 109)

I have about 21-22 hours of class and I think it's pretty decent. No 8:30s... my Mondays, Wednesdays consists of only 1 lecture and a few tutorials here and there. Tuesdays and Thursdays are killers with something like 4 lectures per day. Friday I only have 1 class, which hopefully isn't all bad. I hope it'll turn out to be a good term, at least it has potential to be one! And I'm finally going to be in a class mixed with some other people........ go Genetics! Oh yeah why am I taking Genetics, with no OAC/Gr 11 Biology knowledge... well to be honest with you I really don't give a crap about what I'm taking. I just don't wanna be in another all SE class.

This Friday is going to be absolutely tiring and pretty crazy for me. Sorry Stu but I don't think I can make it on Friday. It's just that I got Electronica at MC and Concord Dawn to go to, and both were planned a while ago. So I'd have to get off work, grab something to eat, go to SLC for an hour and a half to check out my friend's set, until 8:30pm. Then drive back to T.O for Concord Dawn. The problem is I think I'm meeting someone there at 10:30-ish ( so that he can VIP me into the place for free). I don't know what's gonna happen at Concord Dawn because I'm supposedly giving out 3 or 4 CDs to people there. I don't even know if I have time to drop by at your place for 10 minutes... so I'm gonna say to you now "Happy Birthday Stu" and I hope you'll sometime learn how to turn OFF YOUR SWITCH!! =)

Boom!

Kelly Campbell, a member of September 11th Families for Peaceful Tommorrows, said, "I know what it's like to experience shock and awe. I know what it's like to have somebody killed when something comes out of the sky and kills them, and that's what we are about to do to the people in Baghdad." I guess there are a lot of Americans opposed to war, that Son of a Bush should listen to his people.

Earlier Monday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri ruled out the possibility of Saddam relinquishing power and leaving Iraq. Sabri called Bush a "crazy man" and suggested that Bush step down instead to let the world live in peace. Ha ha, those Iraqi politicians are pure jokes.

One thing I fail to understand is why the US is attacking Iraq right now. Are the Iraqi's planning to attack the U.S next week or something? It's not as if Iraq is defying the US either, they complied with all of the demads, what the hell is going on? It's like me telling someone to give me their chips or I'll kick their ass, and then me kicking their ass even after they gave me their chips!?

Next term, I'm taking
Math 235
Math 239
CS 330
Accounting 122
Business 121

3 night classes, but I get thursday's off. How excellent.

The Weekend Warriors

Roughly 32 hours, is how long i took for the compiler. Most of the time at the end i just spent testing and looking for testcases. I wish i had more time to finish the program. I mean i could do procedures i just didn't have enough time. To answer your questions Tom, no i do not feel like i have accomplished something big, i feel that i have just made a crappy little compiler. I mean the project wasn't hard, just time consuming when i have no time at all. And as for intelligence, i really don't think i got smarter, just tired.

On some less cynical news, much less i promise. I declare that i am comming back to Toronto this weekend! (holds for applause) Yes, i've found time in my term to finally come back. Aside from Finals i don't have any more major testing or life crippling assignments left after this week. So yes i will finally be able to come home.

Talked to Karney Lee yesterday, He told me NOT to take CS 365, the advanced version of CS 360 (algorithms). Apparently they covered CS360 in half the term and then went on to prove problems are N-P hard so he doesn't have to solve them. Personally i think that is nuts. Do you realize how hard is N-P hard? If your answer was not solvable in polynomial time, then you need to give yourself a cookie smart ass. DO NOT TAKE CS 365.

Somebody told me something about a CASA trip of some sort this weekend. Some kinda crazy ass trip to Niagara Falls. Care to comment Stu? Since you hang out in that Asian focus lounge. I heard only sketchy details about this.

I can't wait until this weekend already.
