Private First Class Lynch

Ok, what the fuck is the deal with that american soldier that was rescued from a hospital in Iraq? I don't understand why CNN keeps talking about her, who the fuck cares about PFC LYNCH. There are thousands of other soldiers in Iraq, what makes her so important? What the bloody fuck!? Someone please explain to me the significance of this individual. Is it because she's a woman? Is it because she was captured? Is it because she was rescued? Is she some movie star that I don't know about? Jesus, I just read a headline that said "Where were you when PFC Lynch returned home?" Are they trying to say this is going to be one of the most important events in the history of humanity? I really fuckin hate CNN sometimes, god damn. I still want someone to explain it to me though.

Bryant

Personally, I haven't been following Kobe's career. I don't know what kind of player he is (community work, charities, so forth), but on the court, well, his stats speak for themselves.

Guilty or not guilty, it could go either way.

Not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised

...if he was guilty.

Sure he looks classy and all, but what goes on in everyone's personal life is always a mystery.

I don't get it?

Err I don't really know what you're talking about.

Selling an mp3 is sorta stupid and guarantees it to be ripped anyway since you can just go on Soulseek/Kazaa/IRC and share it. Why bother going through this selling/resaling and ownership?

But anyway, I think the whole file sharing thing is actually good in the long run. It promotes the artists. It's the record labels who are bitching and losing money. It's definitely fine in drum and bass because the 95% of the people who buy records are DJs, so there's no big deal. Nobody downloads a shitload of vinyl ripped 192kbps mp3s and then play it out with CDJs anyway.

The big deal here is having unreleased tunes leaked out into the public. I know a person who got his unreleased tunes ripped off by this guy. This guy took his tunes and sent a demo CD with his tunes and took credit of them. Wackness.

Resale Value

Now here is an interesting thought on MP3s. First let's discuss CDs, i buy a CD, portions go out to the music makers and such. I.E. I bought the CD at HMV. Now i can sell this CD at a used CD store. Now the thing is, can i do that with MP3s? Given that i bought the song, can i resell it?

The thing is, if i can't resell it, or if i can only burn X number of copies or i can only download it so many times, then i'm not buying an MP3, what i'm doing is renting the MP3. Which, i really don't want to do and the thought of me renting music is ridiculous. But if i can resell music in mp3 format, then all hell breaks lose. You can't keep track of ownership because if i was asked where i got it from, i can say i got it from questionable person X from ebay. Of course questionable person X doesn't exist because he left ebay never to return. So, can i resell my mp3s?

I'm sure everyone has read some literature on mp3s because you can barely throw a search out and not hit the word RIAA. I'd like to see your opinions of this idea of reselling. Nothing bakes a brain like a discussion on intellectual property or weed.

Nice song jay, i bet you could record it and sell it at 99 cents a piece.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A woman who didn't want the rain to ruin the sofa in the back of her truck caused 24 vehicles to wreck behind her Sunday on Interstate 20 as she swerved to get under an overpass, a police spokesman said.

It was a mess," said Sgt. Pat White of the DeKalb County Police. He said the woman was driving her brown Ford F-150 pickup truck westbound on I-20, just east of Atlanta, at 5:19 p.m. EDT when it began to rain. She changed lanes so rapidly that she cut off cars as she made her way to the shoulder of the road to get under the overpass, White said. "She cut off two vehicles initially, right away, and that caused those two vehicles to collide with each other," White said. "We had a total of 24 vehicles at the end of it." Eight separate accidents were reported as a direct result of the woman's poor driving, he said.

These kind of things never happen in Uganda cuz women aren't allowed to drive there. In honor of this occasion, I've decided to write a song about women. Here goes...

Women, they are the candy in your eye,
Women, there good for nothing but baking pies.
Women, they may smell nice and look sweet,
but women, stay off the damn streets.

Thank you thank you.

Double Dosing

This 2nd post only adds to my theory that I might have had too much time on my hands in 1st year. But I just got my pudgy fingers in yet another honey pot (FOS). Check out Steam from valve, makers of Half-life. It's not so much a game, but a content delivery mechanism. Right now I’m playing the Counterstrike 1.6 beta and it's rocks. Counter Terrorists have riot shields now! So you can just sit there and tank the shit out of an AK-47.

What steam does is keep your game up to date, plus anti-cheat, plus contact list, plus a whack load of other features. Right now its beta and it's free. To be honest it's got some bugs in it, but i played a good 3-4 hours straight without having too many problems. Hey, sometimes you just got to giver.

Also another tidbit of gaming info, Planetside is offering a 7 day no-strings attached demo. You can grab the file off of GameSpy, I'm doing that now. Be wary, it's a 1.4 GB download. Now you’re probably wondering why I have so much time. Clearly I’m procrastinating and I didn't get a wink of sleep last night. I'm not quite sure why, but it probably related the fact that I am getting old. You seem to get so much done when you don't sleep.

I'm outta here, going to hit the bricks today. The climbing bricks that is!
