Sup

It's a rather interesting 2 months in Vancouver.

COH - ya I've been playing this for a while. Level 32 Controller. As far as leveling goes I might ease off a bit, it does get sorta boring.

I'm also helping a friend out in his independent game. It's a pretty cool game, very similar to The Incredible Machine where it's puzzle-driven with a Nintendo-ish theme -- very cartoonish and "cute" sorta thing. I've been fixing some of his code on his sound engine, and now I'm hooking up a bunch of samples for him into the game. It's quite interesting. I have to say this is great experience, even though it basically means I have barely any time to do anything else. On top of that I also gotta do my regular music stuff... ugh.

Hmm I might be going to work today.... not to work, but to play Marvel vs Capcom 2, lol.

The internet hates me

As hard a concept as it may be to imagine, the internet -- an amalgamation of computers connected to one another, with no physical being or mental state -- hates me.

Here's what makes me think all this:
Thursday morning, I awake to find my computer going haywire. Touching the mouse sends it flying all over the screen in a fraction of a second, clicking on programs and causing instabilities with them. The keyboard doesn't respond. After a number of programs have already been reduced to icons that no longer respond, or grey sections of the screen put into stasis lock, I unplug the mouse/keyboard, and reinsert them. They don't respond. What to do? What else: the reset button. I come back from washing my face, and it hasn't advanced past the memory boot screen... not good - the keyboard doesn't respond. I can only hope it's not some problem that requires me to format the bastard. I fully power off and restart it a few minutes later, and fortunately it works.

I head off to work, then Toronto.
On Sunday I return to my Waterloo residence:
I find out that my internet connection doesn't work.
Reboot and attempt to fix - failure.
Reconnect cables - failure.
Renewing IP address - failure.
See if Mike's got any idea - failure.
See if the message boards have any idea - failure.
So, I give up, read some manga on my local drive, and go to sleep.

Monday at work:
I attempt to connect to MSN Messenger, like I normally do, but instead I get some odd error message. Checking the status of the MSN Messenger and the .net passport sign-in, apparently there's some problem... But hotmail seems to work fine. Towards the end of the day, I decide to use ICQ2go to see if certain people that I needed to talk to were online. I check with Mike, and his MSN works fine.
Later in the day, I attempt to access a .pdf that I need to fill out. It either fails to be found, or causes my IE to cramp up and freeze - take your pick, you're right either way. Mind you, this is my system at work, which is considerably more powerful and stable than my home computer, which despite being a piece of crap, has been a typically stable piece of equipment, except for the Windows 98 memory leak from leaving it on for extended periods of time...

I get home today, and for some reason, my IP configuration has magically fixed itself. WTF? I'm not gonna question it, but I'd like to know how the hell to fix it if it ever happens again.
Mind you, I know nobody could've fixed it physically, because my room was locked.

So, I'm convinced the internet hates me, and is attempting to drive me insane.

Clinically yours,
